5 Things I Learned At Project Wild Bootcamp | Mariya Stokes

1) Teamwork makes the dream work – surrounding myself with people I trust, and who believe in my vision is everything.

During our keynote sessions this week with agent/manager Jim Cressman and manager Melissa McMaster, they both talked about how the most successful business relationships they have are based on mutual respect, a shared vison, hard work, and trust. I really will be keeping that in mind while moving forward and building my team.

2) There is always room for me to push myself a little more, especially in my live show.

I had an amazing session with vocal coach Tamara Beatty, where she really pushed the top end of my vocal range as well as my stage presence. It really made me realize that it had been a while since I tried really pushing myself vocally, and I’m excited to continue to work on building my vocal range before the next Project Wild Showcase.

3) I am very bad at floor hockey, but I try very hard.

I think this one is pretty self explanatory! Ha!

4) Girl time in the morning is the best kind of time.

Every morning, all the ladies in the girls dorm get up and get ready for the day together and it has been such a fun bonding experience. I am so in love with all the amazing female artists I now get to call friends that I’ve been hanging out with all week.

5) The song is everything.

This is something I’ve known for a while, but was really reiterated to me this week. A great song can really change the world, and it was interesting hearing that from Giles Godard of Ole, and many different radio personalities throughout this week.
