Project WILD would like you to know each of the 2016 Top 12 even better. We prepared five questions for each of the artists/bands to help us learn a little more.
1. What brought you to country music?
It’s funny because I’ve never really felt like I was brought to country, I just was country. I ride horses, drive a tractor, went to a school outside the city etc. It’s just part of who I am, so it made sense that as I started to write music most of it came out sounding country.
2. When did you write your first song – as an artist or as a band?
I was six years old, and it was on the piano. I can still play every part of it today!
3. If you could go on tour opening for any performing artist right now who would it be?
Hmm tough one. You know there are people you would love to open for because you love their music and want to hang out with them. But sometimes that doesn’t make the most sense musically. So I’m going to answer who I think I would blend nicely with and it would make the most sense right now in the scene :Thomas Rhett !
4. What is the best trend in country music right now?
The best trend …. I would say I like that country music has continued to value good quality writing and that’s a trend I hope never goes out of style!
5. What part of Project WILD are you most looking forward to?
Growth!! In all aspects as an artist, as a business person, as a friend, cowriter, and as a morning person… because I don’t know if you heard but at camp we have to be up at 7:30am for 10 days straight. I don’t know the last time I’ve even seen 7:30 am on a clock. Wait what’s a clock ? I mean iPhone .
